„Přirozenost“ ve filosofii minulosti a současnosti

Sborník z konference Centra pro práci s patristickými, středověkými a renesančními texty přibližuje zajímavost a mnohovrstevnatost pojmů fysis a natura, které patří ke klíčovým termínům západní myšlenkové tradice, ať v jejím filosofickém, teologickém nebo obecném společensko-kulturním rozvinutí. Šestnáct příspěvků shromážděných v tomto sborníku postupně odkrývá pojetí „přírody/přirozenosti“ v dějinách evropské filosofie i fungování této kategorie v současném filosofickém diskursu. Pestrá paleta přístupů a témat je rozčleněna z dějinného hlediska do pěti oddílů: fysis/natura v antickém myšlení, u autorů řecké a latinské patristiky, v byzantském a latinském středověku, v období renesančního humanismu a v současné filosofické diskusi. Kniha je určena zejména čtenářům se zájmem o filosofii, teologii, filologii a kulturní dějiny.

Duše a svět

Devět studií z antické filosofie věnovaných naukám o duši, poznání a světě u Hérakleita, Parmenida a starých pythagorejců, Platóna a Aristotela, ve stoicismu a u Plótina. Kniha sleduje jednu z vývojových linií antické filosofie, která sahá od předókratiků přes stoiky až po novoplatonismus a v jejímž centru stojí dialog Timaios. Dvězávěrečné studie poukazují na ohlasy antických myšlenek ve filosofii 19. a 20. století.
