Terms of Use and Registration

Terms and Conditions for users of the web portal https://www.books-you-can-read.eu

By registering, logging into a user account, or selecting any subscription plan on the web portal https://www.books-you-can-read.eu, you express your full and unconditional agreement with the following Terms of Use.

1. Introductory Provisions and Service Characteristics

1.1. The portal Books You Can Read operates as a community and informational catalog of electronic books (e-books), allowing users to search for books, browse recommendations, rate titles, and access links to external e-book sources.

1.2. These terms govern the rights and obligations between the Operator and the User when using the portal's services.

2. Location of E-book Files

2.1. Content Location: All electronic books, documents, files, and multimedia content linked to or previewed on the portal are physically stored exclusively on external servers and third-party data storage outside any technical administration or control of the Operator.

2.2. The Operator does not store, keep, or host any e-book files on its servers. The website operates strictly as a linking, search, and cataloging index.

3. Limitation of Liability for E-book Quality and Content

3.1. The Operator is not responsible for any text errors, missing pages, poor graphic formatting, corrupted or non-functional files, or the presence of malicious code in files downloaded from external servers.

3.2. The Operator does not guarantee the continuous availability, functionality, or faultlessness of linked external files.

3.3. All risks associated with downloading, opening, and using external files are borne solely by the User at their own responsibility.

4. Pricing Plans, Contributions, and Website Operation Support

4.1. Purpose of Payments: All funds paid by the User within a chosen pricing/subscription plan (hereinafter referred to as the "Support Contribution") are intended exclusively for the support, maintenance, operation, and further development of the Books You Can Read portal as such (e.g., covering server infrastructure, domains, database development, and expanding catalog features).

4.2. Payment Does Not Constitute Purchase of Content: The contribution in no way represents payment for the purchase, licensing, or provision of access to the e-books themselves or copyrighted content. E-books are not subject to sale by the Operator.

4.3. Rights Arising from the Plan: By selecting a pricing plan, the User may gain access to extended portal features (e.g., advanced search, saving to personal libraries, displaying detailed statistics, or ad removal), but not to the e-book files themselves.

4.4. Cancellation and Refunds: Since the Contribution serves to immediately secure the technical operation and development of the portal, the paid amount is non-refundable, unless agreed otherwise in a specific case or required by law.

5. User Content and Community Rules

5.1. If the portal allows Users to post reviews, comments, ratings, add books, or external links, the User is fully responsible for the content they upload or publish on the website.

5.2. Prohibition of Inappropriate Content: It is strictly forbidden to post spam, promotional messages, vulgar or offensive content, hate speech, racist or discriminatory remarks, personal attacks, content infringing copyright, or links to malicious software (malware, viruses, phishing sites).

5.3. Principles of Decent Conduct: Users are obligated to behave politely and respectfully toward other users within the community and adhere to basic rules of etiquette (netiquette). Vulgar, aggressive, or harassing behavior toward other community members will not be tolerated.

5.4. Moderation and Sanctions: The Operator reserves the right to edit or delete any user content that violates these rules without prior notice and without compensation. Repeated or severe disregard for principles of decent conduct may lead to immediate termination or blocking of the user account without entitlement to a refund of any contributions.

6. Outages and Service Availability

6.1. The Operator makes maximum effort to ensure uninterrupted and smooth availability of the Books You Can Read portal.

6.2. The User acknowledges and agrees that services may be temporarily unavailable due to planned or unplanned technical maintenance, system updates, or technical outages on the part of server infrastructure providers, hosting services, or internet connections.

6.3. The Operator bears no responsibility for any damages, inconvenience, or loss of data caused by temporary unavailability of the portal or technical outages.

7. User Account, Registration, and Security

7.1. The User is obligated to provide truthful and current information upon registration and to keep their login credentials confidential.

7.2. The Operator is not responsible for account misuse resulting from the disclosure of the password to a third party by the User.

7.3. Automated data extraction from the website database (scraping), mass downloading, or any disruption of stable server operations is strictly prohibited.

8. Copyrights and Content Reporting

8.1. Users are required to comply with applicable legal regulations protecting copyrights and intellectual property.

8.2. If a copyright owner believes that any link infringes their rights, they may contact the Operator via email at info@books-you-can-read.eu. The Operator will promptly investigate and, if necessary, remove the offending link.

9. Data Protection and Final Provisions

9.1. The processing of users' personal data is governed by a separate Privacy Policy.

9.2. The Operator reserves the right to update these terms at any time. The User will be informed of any changes upon their next login.
